Meditation for Healing Trauma

How Meditation Softens Trauma

As we practice meditation, our capacity to abide in Presence deepens. We become more and more familiar with the embodied experience of Loving Awareness.

AND also, we become more sensitive to the arising of reactivity - the emotionally conditioned responses of our biological, psychological, and cultural conditioning.

With the strengthening of Loving Awareness as our center of identity, we learn to recognize conditioning as it arises through its presence as:

  • Somatic signatures - contractions of sensation/tension within the body.
  • Emotional reactions - fear, anger, doubt, hope, the list goes on.
  • Thought patterns - stories and stressful internal dialogues that repeat and repeat.
  • Behaviors - ways of speaking and acting that perpetuate suffering.

But, we don't just "recognize", we re-balance and re-new these patterns with greater and greater ease, gentleness, and humor.
